Happy Thanksgiving!

We're so blessed to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with our family! This year we were able to go to Pennsylvania and spend some time with our daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. And our youngest son flew up to get some Uncle time!

It's so rewarding to see our children raising children and prospering. I hope that you see the blessings of God in your life this holiday season!

Good group semester

We had a really good time hosting a group from our church this semester! We went through the book "Undistracted" by Bob Goff and enjoyed his stories and the encouragement to find joy in pursuing God's purposes for us. Fun!

Good ride to see leaves

Sue and I had a good time driving the Miata through the north Georgia mountains this weekend! We drove to Cleveland, GA, then headed west through Dahlonega to Adairsville. We had the top down most of the way through the mountains but started getting some light rain as we approached Adairsville. It was amazing to see all the oranges and reds mixed with the evergreens on the two-lane roads. With the top down we could hear the leaves crunch under the tires and swirl behind us, which was amazing!

We enjoyed our first "bed and breakfast" experience, too. The house had been built in 1895 and lovingly restored by a couple next door, and the breakfast they served was delicious! We enjoyed getting to know them.

Good trip!

Remembering our ancestors

I watched the animated Disney movie "Coco" earlier this year and really enjoyed it. The movie focused on events around Día de la Muerta, the Day of the Dead. It's a day to remember our ancestors so that they live on in the afterlife.

While I don't believe in that way I find that I do enjoy remembering those who went before us.

Great date night

Sue and I had a great date this afternoon and evening! We enjoyed the Impressionists Experience at the Illuminarium in Atlanta. It is a VR experience and was incredible! We felt like we were actually walking in 1870s Paris.

Then we went to Ponce City Market and enjoyed games on the roof and dinner on the first floor.

Lots of fun!

Enjoyed celebrating with Mark and Mary

Sue's brother Mark turned 70 this weekend. We had a great time celebrating at the picnic party Mary set up for him. And we really enjoyed having her brother Dan spend the night with us and then coming to the party with us. Fun!

Something To Stand For movie was great!

I got an email about this movie and told Sue that I wanted to see it. We went to the theater last night and saw it and it was amazing! Mike Rowe did a great job telling stories of American heroes that people may not have heard about, and the production was great! I highly recommend it. Great Mediterranean cruise

We had a great trip to Europe for a Mediterranean cruise! We planned this thing for almost a year and everything went great.

We flew to Barcelona and stayed in a hotel for a couple of nights. While there we rode the hop-on/hop-off bus around the city, had lunch at Port Vell, saw La Sagrada Familia, and enjoyed eating tapas at outdoor restaurants. The we got on a boat and saw Palma de Mallorca, Florence and Pisa, Rome, Naples, Amalfi, and Pompeii.

It was amazing to walk on the cobblestone roads that were first laid out by the Greeks and the Roman Empire and to see so many of the things I've only read about or seen on a screen.

What an adventure!

Great visit with Megan and Booker

We had a great time in Florida with Megan and Booker this week! We got to attend time with them at a resort they stayed at. Megan did the big "sex of the baby" reveal in the photo in front of the castle, which was awesome! Another little girl is on the way.

It was great to share in our granddaughter's first visit to Disney World with them and Booker's mom. Grace was so cute taking it all in, and was especially precious when she got to visit with Cinderella while wearing a matching princess dress. It was amazing!

We also enjoyed the water park, a beach visit, the Kennedy Space Center, and just spending time with family.

I'm very proud of how Megan and Booker are doing. Great week!

Enjoyed the eclipse

Sue and I enjoyed the solar eclipse from the comfort of our deck. I bought cheap eclipse glasses earlier this year and sent some to the kids last month. Hopefully they got to use them!

It was cool to see it get darker and to hear the birds getting louder like they do in the mornings and evenings. And it got noticeably cooler at the peak occlusion of the sun.

Fun to see another one like this!
